Embrace’s wellness plans are offered in three tiers, ranging from $18 to $35 to $52 per month. These plans will give you a $250, $450, or $650 annual coverage limit and cover a huge multitude of everyday costs.

With a Geico/Embrace wellness plan, you’ll receive coverage for the following:

Like all pet insurance providers, Geico pet insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions, which are defined as any condition that your pet had before being on an active pet insurance plan with Geico. It also won’t cover the following:

  • Breeding, whelping, or pregnancy
  • Injury deliberately caused by you or any other person or pet in your home
  • Injury or illness due to racing, fighting, cruelty, or neglect
  • Cosmetic procedures (tail docking, ear cropping, and claw removal, unless medically necessary)
  • DNA testing or cloning
  • Stem cell therapy, when not deemed medically essential

Plan customizations

Plan customizations help you choose how much coverage you want for your pet and will significantly affect your monthly premium. For example, selecting a higher deductible will often give you a lower monthly premium which may be necessary for a pet owner on a budget who doesn’t expect to submit many claims. Accident-only plans will also usually be less expensive.

Through Embrace, Geico pet insurance offers many pet insurance customization options, including:

  • Accident-only, accident and illness, and wellness plan coverage options
  • Annual limits ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 (no lifetime limits)
  • Reimbursement percentage choices of 70, 80, and 90%
  • Annual deductible choices ranging from $200 to $1,000

Geico Pet Insurance Customer Reviews

There are always positive and negative reviews for any pet insurance provider on the market. We’ve included the following reviews to give you a better idea of how various customers view Geico pet insurance. Please note that these reviews are pulled from Embrace pet insurance review pages because Embrace administers Geico’s pet insurance.

“The Embrace claim process is simple, straightforward, and timely. I’m very pleased with the ease and the fact there’s no tough process to jump through to get claims submitted and processed.” —Jenise Jester, TrustPilot Reviews

“Getting this pet insurance was the best decision ever! I got it when I adopted my puppy thinking she’d get into stuff. Right when I was thinking of canceling it, BOOM! She needed emergency surgery, totally unpreventable too. They have an app so you can easily scan or upload invoice pdfs from your phone. They usually respond within 2 business days on any claim questions too. I have another dog that I rescued but since she was an adult, the cost of coverage and the lack of medical history wouldn’t make sense. I would recommend getting it ASAP for younger animals so there isn’t too much red tape when it comes to claims/approvals” —G, Facebook Reviews

“Terrible coverage. I never got anything back. I’ve decided to set aside the 125 dollars monthly payment for my dogs in case of an emergency.” —Chris, TrustPilot Reviews

“Embrace has been truly helpful and wonderful for our dog. The new claim uploading process has made everything so much easier. Customer service has always been great. My only complaint is that the premium has continued to increase.” —Sharron, Trustpilot Reviews
