Bivvy Pet Insurance Reviews (2026 Guide)

In our Bivvy Pet Insurance review, we gave the company a 4.1 out of 5.0 and the Best for Transparent Pricing Pet Insurance Provider award.

If you’ve read some of our other pet insurance provider reviews, you’ve probably heard us mention that pet insurance isn’t a one-size-fits-all product. And objectively speaking, it isn’t — except for Bivvy’s policies.

Bivvy aims to simplify the pet insurance experience by providing one principal accident/illness policy that features a universal monthly rate and fixed coverage features for all pets, regardless of species, breed, or age.

Bivvy Pet Insurance Review: Overall Rating

4.1

Our Review for Bivvy Pet Insurance

Bivvy might be a rookie among other well-known providers, but it comes as a breath of fresh air for pet owners who are just as new to the pet insurance market. With standardized benefits that won’t skyrocket based on your pet’s health history, customers can secure cost-effective accident/illness protection without having to navigate a slew of different coverage options.

Pumpkin Pros & Cons

Pros All policies cost the same flat monthly rate regardless of species, breed, size, or age Covers orthodontic expenses Doesn’t uphold any bilateral exclusions Submitted claims are processed within one business day
Cons Offers one base policy that also doesn’t allow policyholders to make any customizations, so coverage is less personalized Only reimburses up to 50% of covered vet expenses Only available in 16 select states

Bivvy Pet Insurance Plans and Coverage

Bivvy distributes its coverage under one principal accident/illness policy at a fixed monthly premium of $14 to $15 for all pets, from hamsters to hounds. Bivvy’s annual coverage limit, reimbursement rate, and deductible are also preset and can’t be customized by policyholders.

Bivvy will cover your pet for up to $3,500 of eligible emergency veterinary services per year with a lifetime limit of $25,000. We think Bivvy could do better regarding its annual payout limits as most of its competitors seem to offer five-figure or unlimited coverage benefits.

If you ever have to file a claim for your pet, assuming that your claim is approved, Bivvy will only reimburse up to 50% of eligible expenses. Most other providers have maximum reimbursement rates of 90%.

Typically, monthly pet insurance premiums will be contingent on a number of factors specific to your pet, such as species, breed, age, and location. The downside to this is that owners with older pets and breeds predisposed to genetic health risks often get stuck paying exorbitant rates that ultimately negate the financial benefits of pet health insurance.

Bivvy is different. No matter what type of pet you have, you’ll only pay $14 or $15 per month (depending on what state you live in) for a comprehensive Bivvy policy. Bivvy’s basic coverage will reimburse you for hereditary and congenital conditions, chronic conditions, cancer, diagnostics, blood tests, X-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds, surgery, hospitalization, prescription medications, emergency care, and orthodontic treatments.

Your monthly premium with Bivvy also won’t increase with age or because you filed a claim.

Bivvy Pet Insurance Reviews

Here are a few snippets of feedback from current Bivvy customers that we’ve included to give you a more solidified sense of what to expect before signing up:

“I have a sweet but rebellious kitty who won’t let me touch her paws or ears. I have to force her into a carrier to get her to the vet for routine health screenings and a mani-pedi. I was very happy to find Bivvy since I know that vet expenses are pretty high. This program will help me take care of Miss Kitty and help her live a longer, happier life.” —Rebecca A., Trustpilot

“With everything going on, the last thing we needed was a vet bill. The bill for our furry friend was running $260, and once I submitted his claim, within three days, I received a response saying I was getting a check for $198! Definitely recommend!” —Vanesa L., Trustpilot

“It isn’t Bivvy’s fault, but I wish there were a way to have known that both of my pups didn’t have the same insurance. I thought I signed them both up for the same thing, but I guess I didn’t. Now I’ve lost out on reimbursements I could’ve had if that one box was checked. I had to cancel the old policy and restart a new one so that I can have him covered as the other one is.” —Sheila M., Trustpilot

“We joined Bivvy about a month ago for our 10-year-old dog, and over two weeks after we joined (at this point we were able to go to the vet if needed) and had to bring my dog to the vet. Bivvy refused to accept this claim ($300+) and said it was a preexisting condition when it was not. We canceled and are unhappy, and I am sad that my dog is no longer insured; however, this was hard to deal with.” —Willow H., Trustpilot

Final Thoughts on Bivvy

With the rising cost of pet healthcare, more and more pet owners are choosing to purchase pet insurance. However, deciding on a policy can be very difficult because there are so many different companies out there, and most people aren’t familiar with how pet insurance works or what it does and doesn’t cover. They’re also often afraid the policy will be more than they can handle financially.

Though Bivvy’s annual benefits and reimbursement percentages aren’t quite as generous as its competitors, it still makes securing affordable yet robust pet insurance possible by providing pet parents with made-to-order policies at competitively low rates.
